Itinerary
You meet your guide in your accommodation upon check-out and leave for the train station. Spend the night comfortably travelling south in the 2nd. class sleeper car. The dinners in the on-board the night train restaurant coach is legendary.
After arrival in Surat Thani, continue with A/C van in the spectacular Khao Sok National Park, one of the largest and most diverse National Parks in the country. Check-in at the beautifully located <a href="http://www.artsriverviewlodge.com/" target="_blank">Art’s Riverview Lodge</a> in the middle of the forest right on the banks of the Sok river. The afternoon is ideal for discovering the great location and enjoying the sounds of the jungle. In the evening you can watch the monkeys from the terrace of the restaurant as they come out of the forest and bathe in the river.
Drive through breathtaking karst cliff landscape to Cheow Lan Lake (60 km). Visit an interesting local market on the way. By boat towards the spectacular lake area in the shadows of high cliffs, mountains and dense jungle. Exciting, partly challenging jungle hike (4hrs) to the Nam Thaloo stalactite cave. If you want, you can also explore the cave. Picnic in the the ancient forest under jungle giants and return to Khao Sok.
After breakfast with a view of the river and the jungle, set off for the next jungle hike. First visit the headquarters of the national park with lots of interesting information about the region’s flora and fauna. Then hike along the Sok River deep into the tropical jungle. Again, there are great views of the ancient forest, waterfalls and rapids, in many places you can swim in the middle of the forest. After Wang Yao, the path becomes steeper and depending on the weather, more slippery. return to the lodge the same way. 3-4 hrs. easy to moderate hiking (or longer, if you wish) depending on trail conditions. A well-deserved, traditional Thai massage awaits you at the lodge.
Drive to Ao Nang at the beautiful Andaman coast. At Ao Thalane embark on an exciting kayak tour (2 hrs.) through dense mangrove forest and karst canyons with many opportunities to see wildlife. Continue to Ao Nang, check-in at beautifully located, comfortable <a href="https://thescenevilla-aonang.com/" target="_blank">The Scene Cliff View Villa Resort</a>. In the afternoon time for the beach.
ree time for activities of your choice. Go swimming and snorkeling to the tropical islands or join a tour to Koh Phi Phi, a boat trip to Railay and the Phra Nang peninsula, diving, rock climbing, or getting to know the secrets of Thai cuisine in a cooking class. Your guide will help you choose.
Transfer with a local Songtaew to Tubkaek beach, starting point to the most beautiful hike in the region. The trail to the top of Khao Ngorn Nak is sometimes steep and leads through coastal jungle to the rocky summit (517m). Unforgettable views of the karst cliff landscape, surrounding mountains, the coastline and offshore islands are the reward for the effort. Picnic at the summit and opportunity to swim in the sea after the return to Tubkaek beach. Walking time about 5 hours.
Departure and transfer to Krabi International Airport (not included) or individual extension
