Itinerary
Upon arrival in Bangkok meet your guide at the airport. Transfer with an A/C van to the beautifully located hotel in the old town Hotel check-in and free time to explore Bangkok. 2 nights in Bangkok.
In the morning visit the Grand Palace and the spectacular Wat Phra Keow with the Emerald Buddha, the most important Buddha statue in the country. Continue to Wat Pho with the giant reclining Buddha and the temple of Dawn, Wat Arun, one of the landmarks of the city. If you want, you can stroll through the interesting amulet market.
Early departure from Bangkok. The first stop is the over one hundred-year-old Mae Klong Railway Market, one of the largest seafood markets in Thailand. A train passes the densely packed, colorful market eight times a day with sometimes there is only a few centimeters of space. We continue to the famous floating market of Damnoen Saduak and the bridge over the river Kwai. Then a change of scene - the contrast to the bustling markets could not be greater at the floating raft lodge on the river, far away from it all. Relax at the raft hotel and if you wish, take a dip in the river, surrounded by mountains and dense forest. The jungle rafts don’t provide electricity in order to maintain a flair of the old days in the light of candles and oil lamps. Simply magical. One night at the raft lodge, dinner is included.
After breakfast by longtail boat to the pier and with A/C van to the old capital Ayutthaya, world cultural heritage and once largest city in Asia. On the way we visit the Erawan National Park and the waterfalls of the same name, falling over many steps and cascades. Hike along the falls through dense jungle to one of the beautiful natural swimming pools and take refreshing bath in cool water in the middle of the tropical jungle. Continuation to Ayutthaya. Check-in to the comfortable hotel. Later there is an option to book a dinner cruise on a traditional barge past the illuminated historical temples.
Visit the main temples and ruins of Ayutthaya destroyed in 1767, Wat Mahathat, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and Wat Chai Wattanaram. Afterwards, continue to the oldest national park in the country, the World Natural Heritage Khao Yai. Along the way visit the Khao Yai Winery and try the local wines. Continue into the National Park and check-in in a simple national park lodge in the heart of the park. After sunset there is the option to take part in a night safari accompanied by a ranger.
Your guide and the ranger will help you to choose one of the easy-to-challenging jungle hikes, depending on present trail conditions, recent wildlife sightings and your personal preferences. Shops and food stalls near the headquarters of the Park offer breakfast and all necessary supplies before embarking on your chosen jungle hike. In the afternoon return to Bangkok to the airport or your choice of accommodation.
